Other important Questions

How many dogs can I bring?

Our cottage is equipped to comfortably accommodate 2 or 3 dogs depending on size. If you have more then just get in touch and ask us.

Is there an extra charge for bringing dogs?

No, dogs are part of the family and there is no extra charge for them.

Is there a secure area for my dog?

Yes, there is a fully fenced, gated garden behind the Lodge. The fence is about 5ft high. The gate has been adapted to stop the smallest of dogs being able to get through the bars.

Are there good walk nearby?

Absolutely. We are located in the beautiful East Yorkshire countryside, near the Yorkshire Wolds and the stunning east coast for you and your dog to explore. Plus there is a farm lane running straight past the Lodge between arable fields and this is perfect for those early morning or after tea walks.

Can I bring my horse as well as my dog?

Yes. We are unique in that we offer on-site stabling and grazing. If you would like to bring your horse on holiday with you please do get in touch to discuss availability and cost.

Are there any dog-friendly beaches or attractions nearby?

Yes, our location is a great base for exploring. Many of the beaches in East Yorkshire and the local attractions are welcoming to dogs including the grounds of Sewerby Hall, Burton Agnes Hall and Sledmere House.  We recommend checking specific local beach restrictions for dogs during peak summer months, but it’s generally the ones closer to Bridlington, Fraisthorpe Beach is unrestricted all year round.

What should I bring for my dog?

We do provide raised bowls in the kitchen, fleece throws in the blanket chest on the landing for putting on the sofas and a medium size bed for you to use. There is also a mud daddy in the utility room should you need to wash your dog. We do also have a dog crate available should you need to borrow one.

Are there any “house rules” for dogs?

Very few! Please use fleece throws on furniture before allowing your dogs on the sofa etc and please clear up after them in the garden and around the farm. Please do not leave your dog unattended for long periods alone in the Lodge.
