1, Paws and Paths: Sledmere Sunset Trail Taster
When: June 5th 2026
Where: Sledmere House (approx. 20 minutes away)
If your family loves a gentle evening stroll in a breathtaking setting, Sledmere House is hosting their evening Sunset Trail event on 5th June. It’s a chance to experience the historic, 18th Century “Capability Brown” parkland as the sun goes down.
Dog Friendly? Yes! Sledmere’s grounds are famously welcoming to dogs on leads, making this an incredible twilight walk for the whole family before heading back to the cottage for a cosy evening.
2, For the Outdoor Enthusiasts: The Yorkshire Cycle Festival.
When: June 12th – 14th 2026
Where: Driffield Showground (approx. 15 mins away)
A brilliant, high-energy weekend right in the heart of our local market town. The Yorkshire Cycle Festival features everything from gravity defying stunt shows and bike trials to regional food stalls, live music and family entertainment.
Good to Know: This is a lively event with plenty of space for the older members of the family sit and enjoy the atmosphere while the kids check out the stunts.
3, The Ultimate Dog Walk: Wold Rangers Way Walking Festival.
When: June 19th – 21st 2026
Where: Across the Yorkshire Wolds (Centred in Driffield)
This is a standout event for anyone who loves walking with their dog. The festival celebrates the historic paths of the Yorkshire Wolds with guided walks designed for all abilities – from short, flat family rambles to challenging treks across the wolds.
Dog Friendly? Incredibly so. Your dog will be in absolute paradise exploring.
4, Foodie Heaven: Bridlington Food Festival
When: Sunday Market Days throughout June
Where: King Street, Bridlington (just 5 miles away)
If you fancy a taste of true Yorkshire hospitality, a trip to the Bridlington Food Festival is a must. Sample everything from locally caught seafood to artisan Yorkshire cheeses and homemade pastries.
Top Tip: Grab some local treats to bring back to the cottage for a family feast at our spacious dining table. Can personally recommend Tiffin & Tart’s sweet treats.
Wake up to New Foals.
Of course, you don’t even have to leave the farm to experience the magic of June. Our biggest attraction this month is right outside the window! Our springtime foals are now out in the fields during the day and back in the stables at night, full of energy and finding their characters. Guests staying in our back bedroom can watch then first thing in the morning and we love taking families out to meet the horses properly during their stay.
After a day of exploring local festivals or walking on the beach at nearby Fraisthorpe, your family can completely unwind here. No stressful rules for the dogs – just cosy fleece throws on the sofas, a premium Yorkshire welcome hamper waiting on arrival and a spacious ground floor bedroom that ensures no one has to worry about navigating the stairs.
